Although there are many causes of breast cancer, the origin may be the inflammation that is triggered by the drastic harmful bacteria, say researchers. However, eating yogurt may aid in lessening breast cancer risk.

Scientists put forward their yet-unproven idea, backed up by the accessible evidence, that bacterial generated inflammation is associated with cancer.

The Journal of Medical Hypothesis paper is by Professor Jim Morris from the University Hospital of Morecambe Bay, Medical Student Auday Marwaha of Lancaster University, and Dr. Rachael Rigby from the Faculty of Health and Medicine (Lancaster University).

The researchers state that: “There is an effortless, inexpensive possible protective remedy; which is for women to eat natural yogurt day after day.”

The primary reason for recommending yogurt to reduce cancer risk is that there is valuable lactose fermenting bacteria in yogurt (often found in milk) that is quite identical to the bacteria (microflora) in the breast of mothers as described in the hypothesis.

Dr. Rachael Rigby of Lancaster University said: “We now realize that there is no sterility in breast milk and that lactation changes the microflora of breast.”

He also supported the hypothesis by saying: “These lactose fermenting bacteria are frequently found in the milk and are possible to occur in the milk ducts of women for an unknown period during and after lactation.”

They hint that this (lactose fermenting) bacteria is safe in the breast as breastfeeding minimizes breast cancer threats by 4.3% each year.

Several relevant studies also show that yogurt’s utilization decreases the breast cancer risk, possibly because of injurious bacteria’s replacement by the helpful one.

Some latest studies also say that milk increases the risk of breast cancer. We advise you to do thorough research before using the best yogurt for breast cancer, such as Greek yogurt for cancer patients.

There are about 10 billion (10,000,000,000) bacterial cells in a single human body.

While most of them are harmless, some produce toxins that activate inflammation in the body like;

  • Chronic inflammation demolishes the harmful microbes along with damaging the body.
  • Gum disease is the general inflammatory condition linked to esophageal, pancreatic, colonial, pro-static, oral, and breast cancer.

The researchers conclude that: “The stem cells which split to refill the breast ducts’ lining are affected by the micro-flora. And exact parts of the micro-flora also have appeared in organs like the stomach and colon increasing cancer development risk. Therefore, the occurrence of the identical scenario is possible, through which micro-flora influence cancer risk by impacting stem cell division.”

Is Greek yogurt good for patients with cancer?

Greek yogurt could be an awesome choice to take during cancer treatment. In case of calcium and protein levels falling to a risky point during treatment, the Greek yogurt works efficiently to increase its intake.

Adding Greek yogurt to your diet helps to consume calcium, potassium, vitamin A and D, and phosphorus. All these nutrients are essential for fast recovery and healing during or not during treatment.

(Thank you for learning facts on how yogurt reduces the risk of breast cancer. Lastly, we advocate you to always consult your doctor or specialist for more information.)
